Hey all…. Long time, no write. Has it really been since January?

My artistic life is full of fantastic at the moment and I wanted to share. The big question is… Where to start? … Let’s go in reasonably chronological order. (check out my Upcoming Schedule  page for dates, times, ticket prices, and address details!)

Kansas City Fringe Festival

It’s that time again! Potluck Productions has put together another show for the Fringe. We’re doing a set of 4 plays, all of which start with “After Midnight.” We’ve got clones, gingers, cellos, and kilts! If you haven’t seen one of my plays yet, here’s your chance! My play Bridges is one of the stories being told. And if you haven’t seen me act yet, here’s your chance! I am performing in Glendora Davis’ play, Kilt. And if you haven’t heard me sing…. Where the heck have you been? (Ha!) Well, here’s your chance for that too. I’m excited to be providing the musical intervals for the evening. You’ll even get to hear snippets of some originals!

10-Minute Eggs at the Fresh Fruit Festival (NYC)

My short play Brokendown House is showing as part of the short play piece of the Fresh Fruit Festival of LGBTQ Arts, presented by All Out Arts in New York City. If you know anyone who’ll be in the city, please pass along the info! I am so lucky to be making connections of fabulous directors (Jordan Bean, Samantha Elizabeth Turlington) and production companies (Ivy Theatre Company) who allow me to keep getting my work seen in New York. I love you guys!

Opening for Sharon Knight!

You guys. One of my favorite West Coast songstresses is coming to town and guess what! I get to play music with Sharon Knight & Winter! They are coming to Kansas City as part of their upcoming tour. We’ll be performing at Westport Coffeehouse in the downstairs theatre. So, so excited! Come out for some great music! And to show Sharon and Winter that KC is a worthwhile stop!!

CD Release Party!

I’m finally releasing my new album, Lullabies & Longings! WoooooHooooo! Come out to hear a live preview!

Senior Barn Players

I’m also thrilled to share that my short comedy Buying the Farm has been selected for the upcoming Senior Barn Players season. Senior Barn Players is a wonderful organization that provides a regular venue for 55+ actors and delivers entertainment directly to you. If you’re looking for a new donation opportunity, add them to your giving list!

Other Creative Endeavors

This is an amazing year for new creative activity. I have two exciting retreats coming up. First, a writing workshop and retreat through Madcap Retreats, run by the fabulous Natalie C Parker. I’ll be learning from Natalie, Courtney C Stevens, Tessa Gratton, and Victoria Schwab. Then in September, I travel to Ireland for a pilgrimage called Bardic Ways: Listening to the Spirits of Place. I’ll be traveling through the sacred landscape of Ireland, with an emphasis on locations sacred to the ancient Celtic bards.

My novel is coming right along. I am working through the – fingers crossed –  “final” edits. (Final enough to be ready to query, that is!)

Musically, I am pursuing an amazing opportunity with my synagogue. The music director is amazing about supporting the skills and talents of her community. For the first time, I am getting to hear the synagogue choir sing pieces I have composed. It is truly marvelous to hear my work sung back to me.

I’m probably forgetting something in the mad rush to prepare for Fringe opening night. If you are one of those things, I’m sorry!

I hope you all like the new look of the website. Thank you for your continued support!
