Life is Good
Life is good.
Even if the day weren’t gorgeous, life would be good. (But it is, so life is even better.) My recording project is rocking right along. We’ll soon be finished with instrumental tracks and moving on to vocals, which means I will soon be the new whipping girl at the studio. We don’t use no stinking AutoTune at LA Audio. I have to actually sing my songs right and well. And they’ll make me keep going until I do! Still, I won’t trade the process for anything. I love being in the studio. With all its tedium, hard work, and lack of glamour, I love it.
Max and I have put together a four-song demo for festival and venue submissions. Check back often, as I plan to post the songs on the site soon. I wanted to have a demo that is representative of what you’ll actually get when you book me as a solo act, so these tracks are just guitar and vocal. They sound quite spare after listening to my full band tracks all week, but the guys tell me they’re not bad. (Okay, they tell me they are actually good, but that feels arrogant coming out of my fingers. *grin* )
My side project, the duo Street Corner Choir, is also going well. We had our CD Release Party on the 21st and, despite the weather, we had a decent turnout. If you missed the party but are curious about the music, you can find Changing with the Sky on CD Baby, iTunes, and the Street Corner Choir website. David and I have duo gigs scheduled throughout the summer, so keep an eye on the schedule!
I don’t want to jinx it or anything, so I’ll say it softly…. I think spring might be here to stay. Yea! This weather has my creative juices flowing. I’m building my profile on SonicBids, continuing to build my website, and I can’t wait to start working on some new writing projects (music included) that I have percolating in my brain.
I guess that’s all for now, my friends. Stay safe and well and be good to each other.
